Because my every day is dictated by uncontrollable compulsions, I use my art practice as an opportunity to regain control over my thoughts and actions through a willful repetition of actions, text, mark-making, and audio. The results are paintings, performances, videos, and installations that blur the line between mental health and illness. I am interested in the moment seemingly mundane, harmless behaviors turn into obsessive, destructive ones—the moment when everything goes wrong—and finding ways to confront, deal with, or escape them.
